Standoff in Riverton ends peacefully

A standoff between SWAT officers and a distraught man who claimed to be in possession of firearms inside his Riverton apartment came to a peaceful end Wednesday morning.
Unified Police Department Lt. Don Hutson said a 24-year-old man surrendered just before 5 a.m. after more than four hours of coaxing by family members and police negotiators.
