South Ogden man dies in glider crash

A pilot died Saturday when his glider crashed into a Morgan County mountain.
The pilot, identified only as a 55-year-old South Ogden man, was flying a single-seat glider with an enclosed cockpit. Morgan County Sheriff’s Sgt. Jason Lee said a plane pulled the glider into the air about 2:30 p.m. over Mahogany Canyon.
A two-seat glider was flying with the glider that crashed. The two-seater lost sight of the other glider then later saw its wreckage on a mountainside, Lee said.
