Rescuers practice on simulated earthquake

Firefighters from around the Salt Lake Valley practiced for the aftermath of an earthquake this week.
About 300 firefighters and rescue workers from several departments dug through concrete, glass, plastic and furniture to reach 80 trapped “victims,” said West Valley City fire Battalion Chief Bob Fitzgerald. They dug through 18-by-24-inch tunnels to reach the mannequins and live volunteers
