It looks like a yearbook picture of Louise Cottle Valdez, her long bangs flipped up in the style of the time and a small, sweet smile on her face.
I found it on the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s cold case Web page, where Louise is one of dozens of murder victims whose killers have never been found.
Just about every law enforcement agency in Utah has the same kind of list — grim reminders of justice denied and families left bewildered and bereft.
Louise was just 18 in 1979, working at a Taco Time …
