Latex paint spill in City Creek under investigation

Up to 100 gallons of white latex paint has flowed into City Creek via a storm drain from the Avenues, fire crews said.
Police are trying to find out who dumped the paint into the drain while health officials try to determine how toxic the spill is, said Salt Lake City Fire Battalion Chief Clair Baldwin.
A milky fluid was reported to be flowing down City Creek in Memory Grove about 6:45 p.m., prompting crews to close the park temporarily.
