Funeral Thursday for girl who died after WVC pool accident

Funeral services were planned Thursday for a 4-year-old girl who died after a swimming accident at West Valley City’s Centennial Pool.
Emily Ann Searcy was pulled from the deep end of the pool by lifeguards on July 29. CPR initially appeared to have restored her breathing by the time firefighters and a medical helicopter arrived, but she did not recover from her time underwater, estimated at several minutes.
She was pronounced dead Friday at Primary Children’s Medical Center.
