Fires at 2 Salt Lake City homes force evacuation

A fire at two homes near 200 East and 800 South in Salt Lake City spewed heavy smoke into the downtown sky and displaced 14 people.
Flames roared from the attic of a home at 753 S. Roberta St. (240 East), leaving it still standing but no longer habitable, according to Scott Freitag, spokesman for the Salt Lake City Fire Department.
