Fire damages Riverton home

The Unified Fire Authority battled smoke and flames in the garage of a two-story Riverton home about 10 a.m. Monday after a child ignited the home with illegal fireworks.
UFA Battalion Chief Clint Smith said the crew found five children, ranging in age from 6 to 14, safely outside the building near 2000 West and 13730 South.
There were no adults home at the time.
Investigators determined one of the children ignited firecrackers or a Roman candle just outside the garage door and the sparks ignite…
