Brigham City doctor accused of prescribing millions of pills illegally

A Brigham City orthopedic surgeon who prescribed the fourth-highest amount of oxycodone and highest amount of hydrocodone was indicted Thursday on 130 counts, including two counts of distribution of controlled substances resulting in death.
The federal indictment alleges that Dewey C. MacKay III, 63, distributed more than 1.9 million pills of hydrocodone and nearly 1.6 million pills of oxycodone between June 1, 2005, and Oct. 30, 2009.
