Abandoned van is fatal hit-and-run vehicle, cops say

Detectives have confirmed that a minivan found abandoned in west Salt Lake City is the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run death of a 1-year-old girl.
Taylorsville police Detective Shannon Bennett said Tuesday that investigators hoped to obtain more evidence from the minivan. Bennett would not discuss why police were certain the minivan is the correct vehicle, nor would he say what make and model the minivan is.
