Granger High student slices off fingers in metal shop class

A student at Granger High School sliced off three fingers in a metal shop class Thursday afternoon.
The 18-year-old girl was attempting to cut a piece of metal on a saw about 1:45 p.m. when she was injured, said West Valley City Fire Lt. Bill Merritt.
“She was very calm and answering questions, kind of matter-of-fact about the whole thing,” he said. She did not lose consciousness and was taken to Intermountain Medical Center for treatment. The cut appeared clean, and Merritt said the shop teach…
